New Village Technician required   (03/03/2017)
Deanshanger Village Technician

Purpose:

To maintain the appearance, safety and cleanliness of Deanshanger so that residents can enjoy a sense of pride in their village.

The Terms:

The contract for Deanshanger Village Technician is for 6 months and the Deanshanger Village Technician will report to the Clerk to the Council.

The contract shall be paid at a rate of £11.00 per hour for works specified below, with an agreed minimum of 10 hours per week for 6 months from the start of contract.
Payments will be made via submission of an invoice for works completed each month.

The works listed below shall be carried out to the satisfaction of the Chairman/Clerk of the Council whose direction as to the places where work is required shall be final and binding in relation to works carried out under this contract.

The Contractor shall insure himself and all persons, if any, employed and paid by him to do work on his behalf, against accident and liability to the public and herby indemnifies the Council against all liability in that connection to a minimum sum of £5,000,000. The Contractor shall provide the original insurance documents to the Clerk to the Council before commencing any works in the village. If the contractor fails to provide adequate insurance documents to the Clerk, any agreements entered into between Deanshanger Parish Council and the Contractor shall be rendered null and void.

The Contractor shall provide all his own plant, tools, equipment and fuels of all kinds necessary for carrying out the work required to be done under this contract and dispose of all rubbish, etc. Materials required will need to be purchased and reimbursed monthly via any invoice submitted with copies of receipts of purchase.

The Works:

Open Spaces:
To tidy up and keep tidy on a bi-weekly basis, ideally Monday & Friday, the areas known as Springfield Open Space, the path from Springfield Gardens to Glebe Road and the Pocket Park Disposing of any rubbish etc from the same. This excludes grass cutting and hedge trimming.

To tidy up and keep tidy on a weekly basis the areas known as North Way Park, Foxholes Close Park, Diswell Brook Way Park, Bridge Walk Park and Folly Road Park disposing of any rubbish etc from the same. This excludes grass cutting and hedge trimming.

To carry out monthly safety inspections of all the park equipment in Springfield Open Space, North Way Park, Pocket Park, Foxholes Close Park, Diswell Brook Way Park, Bridge Walk Park and Folly Road Park, and to complete a monthly written report on the condition of the same and completed report sheets are to be submitted to the Parish Clerk. Any vandalism damage should be reported to the Clerk without delay in order that the Police may be informed.

General:
Ad hoc small maintenance tasks as designated by the Parish Clerk.
